I’ve been very fortunate to have many interesting personal and professional experiences, and I think my passion for seeking out those experiences stems from hearing about others’ exciting stories and—most importantly—the ways in which they are told. By studying the ways that others tell their stories, I’ve enjoyed trying to emulate those techniques to successfully engage and entertain audiences. Older things—people, art, architecture, societies—have always fascinated me.
My style influences are quite expansive. From M. C. Escher to James Bond and Spongebob Squarepants, there are many styles that have influenced me over the years. Some of my all-time favorites include Bob Ross, Gothic Art, Art Deco, Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, and Dazed and Confused, as well as Kid Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Johnny Cash, and the Beastie Boys.
Born and reared in Evansville, IN (yes, I said “reared”), I Came to beautiful Lexington to attend UK in 1990 and have really never left except for a few brief stints. “I love to travel, but I always love coming home more.” really sums up my feelings. I’m married to my wife, Cassie, and we have four kids: Karson (19), Katherine (18), Jake (17), and Lindley (12).
